Endorsement

The Secretariat of the National Framework is assisting Framework partners to seek the endorsement of the Framework from their ministers, boards or governing bodies.

To date, 44 partners have endorsed the National Framework.

The National Framework was achieved through a consensus-building process involving multi-jurisdictional and multi-sectoral partners.

Consensus documents, such as the National Framework, are intended to achieve agreement on moving forward and not necessarily to reach absolute conformity on all issues. Please note that some partners, while agreeing to move forward, have expressed concerns regarding some of the language of the Framework as it pertains to the characterization of problematic substance use.

Endorsement of the National Framework

  • Signifies approval and active support of vision, principles, goals and priorities of the National Framework

Endorsement fosters

  • Active collaboration to achieve the most beneficial results for the greatest number of people
  • Support at all levels and across all sectors
  • Better planning and utilization of resources
  • Collaborative action within a common frame of reference
