National Alcohol Policy Thematic Workshop - convened as a first step in addressing the Framework priority of Reducing Alcohol-Related Harms in Canada

  • Held – November 18-19, 2004
  • Hosted by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse and Health Canada
  • Forty-three participants representative of the federal and provincial governments, the alcohol industry, NGOs, regulatory bodies and academia
  • Objectives:

to identify topics of national concern related to alcohol policy that could be addressed through a collaborative approach to policy development and research;

to identify possible policy directions within these topic areas; and

to identify strategies and mechanisms to facilitate movement on priority policy directions.
