National Thematic Workshop on Enforcement — convened as an early step in focusing on the National Framework priority Addressing Enforcement Issues.
- Held March 25–26, 2009
- Hosted by the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police, the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse and Public Safety Canada
- 47 participants representative of police (federal, provincial and regional), NGOs, federal and provincial governments, people who use drugs, and the host organizations
- Objectives:
- Build an understanding of the issues related to enforcement from several perspectives, including that of consumers (people who use illicit drugs)
- Start to identify best practices in enforcement
- Determine which issues an action plan should focus on, including further research as necessary
