Police and Police Partners: Supply Management and Demand Reduction - convened as a first step in identifying "national law enforcement priorities, policies and programs, as well as to set out the roles and responsibilities of law enforcement in the National Framework".

  • Hosted by Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada
  • Two-day Workshop - divided into two sections:

demand reduction, focusing on exploring the role of police in prevention, education and public awareness, and the supporting partnerships;

supply management, focusing on reducing the supply of illegal drugs and other substances of abuse.

  • Eighty participants - senior level police officers, community and health officials, policy makers and researchers
  • Workshop also included a session on law and sentencing, led by the Department of Justice Canada.
