National Thematic Workshop on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

National Thematic Workshop on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) – convened as first step in addressing the Framework priority of Addressing Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.  

  • Held - March 29-30, 2005
  • Hosted by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse and the Public Health Agency of Canada
  • Thirty-five participants, representative of the federal and provincial governments, NGOs, those who use drugs, the medical profession, and academia 
  • Objectives:

to identify and prioritize issues of national significance in FASD as they relate to the development of the alcohol portion of the National Framework for Action to Reduce the Harms Associated with Alcohol and Other Drugs and Substances;

to identify areas for linking the National Framework on FASD with the National Framework for Action to Reduce the Harms Associated with Alcohol and Other Drugs and Substances.
